I'm fairly certain though that the kerning in both Word and Flash were set to the same value.

Re: Flash completely dominates CSS/HTML/JS for rendering text accurately | Seth Call: Programmer

Sure, it is a very good platform for rendering text. I trying to test if it is possible to get pixel perfect accuracy with Word, but even at 16 using the code you posted I am struggling. In the example you show Word overlaying flash, was this using the exact code you posted in the article? Or did you have to make some slight changes (i.e. to the kerning)?

Thanks

Re: Flash completely dominates CSS/HTML/JS for rendering text accurately | Seth Call: Programmer

Hey Colin,

You know, I didn't get to try that. But ultimately I guess Flash as a very stable way of rendering text is valid either way.

Re: Flash completely dominates CSS/HTML/JS for rendering text accurately | Seth Call: Programmer

Have you tried this with other fonts and sizes and compared with word? Specifically smaller font sizes like 4, 6, 8 point?

I have found that there are fidelity issues with Word when using these smaller font sizes.

Re: Flash completely dominates CSS/HTML/JS for rendering text accurately | Seth Call: Programmer

testing
